Phase One of Riverwalk San Diego is well underway! We are in the process of completing foundations and starting to frame apartment units. You will soon see residential (721 homes) and retail buildings take shape.
Simultaneously, we have started to design the new green line trolley station for Riverwalk. This station will be connected to Phase One along with a village green gathering space.
Adjacent to Phase One is The Becker, an affordable community with 188 apartment units by Wakeland Housing at Riverwalk. Construction commenced in the summer of 2025, and the team is also framing apartment units. Tenant interest lists for all housing will open in 2027. Those who are looking for affordable housing now can go to www.wakelandhdc.com/leasing-information for other properties.
The 18-hole golf course at Riverwalk will remain open during construction and for at least 7-10 more years, so don’t hold back, golfers!
At full buildout, Riverwalk will include 4,300 homes (including 430 affordable homes), 152,000 square feet of retail, one million square feet of office, and approximately 97 acres of parks, open space, and trails, including a restored San Diego River and a 55-acre regional park.
As we continue to look forward to the completion and grand opening of Phase One in spring 2029 (with some homes coming available sooner), we can’t express our gratitude enough to the community members, organizations, and public servants who helped shape Riverwalk San Diego and make this village possible. But here’s us trying: Thank you!
