Construction is underway for ‘The Becker’ — a brand-new affordable housing community and the very first homes to break ground at Riverwalk San Diego!

Developed in partnership with Wakeland Housing, The Becker will deliver 190 affordable apartments for individuals and families earning 60% or less of the Area Median Income. Conveniently located near a future MTS Green Line Trolley stop and adjacent to the San Diego River Trail, this project brings long-term affordability, sustainability, and connectivity to the heart of Mission Valley.

Named in honor of Evan Becker — a tireless advocate for affordable housing in San Diego — the project reflects our shared commitment to building inclusive, vibrant communities for all.

The Becker, slated for completion in mid-2027, will offer thoughtfully designed spaces across three contemporary buildings, featuring large outdoor courtyards, a community room with a computer lab and kitchen, bicycle parking, and more.  The waitlist for homes at The Becker will open in early 2027

This is just the beginning. When complete, Riverwalk San Diego will include 4,300 new homes (430 of which will be affordable), 110 acres of parks and open space, 1 million square feet of office, and 150,000 square feet of retail.
