Thank you for your interest in Riverwalk San Diego. Please be advised that we also post Project Progress Updates on the Riverwalk San Diego Facebook page. Please follow us there if you don’t already.

August Update

Riverwalk San Diego is about to break ground! With permits in hand, construction for Phase 1 will begin on the north 9 holes in the next few weeks.

Phase 1 will create a smart village offering a pedestrian-oriented indoor/outdoor, active lifestyle. Specifically, Phase 1 will provide roughly 930 homes in a series of five buildings surrounding an urban park and retail destination. These residences will range in size from studios to town homes. All homes in the first phase will be for-rent apartments, and we anticipate for-sale homes in future phases of the project.

Retail offerings in Phase 1 will provide neighborhood-serving grocery, local restaurant and fitness options—all centered around a village green. Our inspiration comes from towns designed before automobiles existed—where a daily, leisurely public walk was (or still is!) commonplace.

As promised to the community, there will be ample parking for both the residences and the retail without taking away from the pedestrian experience. We will also improve all the sidewalks and bike lanes along Friars Road to make walking and biking easier for our neighbors.

Beyond Groundbreaking

  • Friars Road Improvements (widening the road, adding new traffic signals, planted median, bike lane and sidewalk) – Scheduled to begin in October and continue for roughly one year (more details will be provided prior to construction on Friars Road commencing)
  • First Resident Move-Ins – Late 2024/Early 2025
  • Grand Opening– Early 2025
The 18-hole Riverwalk Golf Course will remain open through construction of Phase 1 and for a number of years thereafter.

We appreciate the input and support we’ve received from the community, and we look forward to creating something special in Mission Valley.
